Really nice paintjob. I didn't expect that would work so well. Congratulations.

Hello Andrew:

Kudos for the effort on the lozenge.  Quite a challnge and effort and you pulled it off nicely.  I am looking forward to seeing how you wrap this up.

Thanks to everybody  for the nice comments!

I'll post some updates in the enxt days. I'm painting the underside lozenges, so not too much to show you...
Just a lot of masking  ;D

Hi!

The fuselage is finished   :D

Now I need a gloss coat, decals and weathering...

Meanwhile I'm going on with other parts.
Here's the engine. I've added the lifters and spark plugs cables. For the cables I've used elastic thread instead of the usual copper wire and I must say that is much easier  :)
I still need to paint some details of the intake assembly.

Now that the fuelage is painted the work should speed up.

That's all!

Andrew

Looks fantastic Andrew!  What a great mix of colors in the lozenge paint.

Can you please explain how you used elastic thread for the spark plug cables?  Anything that is easier is always welcome. :D. Thanks.

Cheers,

Bob

hi,

The red part is an albion alloy tube  (0.9 mm maybe a 0.8 is the right measure, but I had only 07 or 0.9...)

I've inserted in the tube 6 pieces of elastic thread (eazy line)

I've attached the tube to the cylinders and then I've cut to measure and attached the wires to the distributor (i've used white glue).
For the pieces from the plugs to the tube I've simply attached a piece of elastic thread to each spark plug, then cut to the right lenght (a little higher than the base of cylinders) and then I've attached the other end to the tube
Then paint and there you go  :D

If something is not clear just ask.

By the way, I've copied this technique, but I don't remember if from a forum or an article from a magazine (maybe a Windsock one..)

Andrew

Your lozenge painting is brilliant and that engine is so realistic.  Excellent work, Andrew.
