I tip my hat to anyone who masters the use of PE in such a clean manner such as you have. It's always been black magic to me.

Cheers,

Chris
You can have it good; You can have it fast; you can have it cheap. Pick any two, but all three are impossible.

What Chris said, that is really clean work on some very tiny parts. Nicely done!

I love the photo-diary builds that demonstrate with pictures. Please keep it up!

She's coming along nicely.

Nice attention to detail Dagmar. I'm really looking forwards to seeing the rest come together.

Hello dear colleagues,

Thank you for the kind words!

Still working on the cockpit by putting some time in the rudder pedal using thin plastic sheet and copper wire...

Tackled the safety belts next. Cut the belts from the lid of a yogurt cup, made buckles from stretched sprue and fixation hooks from copper wire. Finally added once again some bits from the PART Albatros D.I photo etch set...

Pilot's seat is next. Tried to accomplish the layered look of the leather on the seat and cushion by first gluing stretched sprue to limit the layers of leather and secondly building up the edges with the talcum/super glue mixture and having some sanding sessions...

Till next time,

Dagmar

Hello dear colleagues,

Slowly but surely seeing the end of the 'cockpit'-activities.
Upgrading dashboard, pumps, gun support,... with once again copper wire, stretched sprue, self adhesive alu tape. Not really high tech but conclusive I think.

Until now no 'real W.4'-building was on the menu and therefore I think it's time to leave behind the more Albatros D and W generic part and start focusing on the W-specifics. Some wing carving and float building coming up!

Till next time,

Dagmar
