And I'll add to Chris's comments regarding meals, laundry etc.   .......................the absence of a landlord with his hand out for the Rent every month or so!
My Daughter still has a dedicated room (I call it the "monument") just in case...............??)
Cheers,
Lance

My son (29 years old) has just moved out of his former house and is now house hunting, so he has moved back with my wife and I, luckily we had a spare bedroom for him to move into leaving my dedicated model room untouched. My wife has just recently had an operation on her hand so guess who is doing all the cooking, cleaning, laundry etc for all three of us, damn, really cuts into my modeling time.

You guys better watch out lest your kids do to you what I did to my parents - buy the house and kick them out :)

RB, I don't think Antonio realised you kicked your parents out, not your kids :)
I take it they retired to smaller digs?
My 21 year old step daughter left home a while ago (something about babysitting and having to set the table ::)) but her room became her younger sister's (sharing with her brother previously). So no 'hobby room' for me or my wife :'(

@Antonio - what is that egg?

@Des - hope your wife is recovering well

Yes I understood RB the other way round, I did not realize he kicked the parents out... uh hu... perhaps I should buy some weapons...

@Andrew, have a look here The egg is an experiment of mine, a couple of years ago my wife made so many decorated eggs to give to relations coming for lunch and I stole one egg pierced with holes to make decoration ribbons go through, I glued some o-ring shaped dry noodles on the holes and painted, then used some scrap elements I had in my scrap box and a couple of keys taken from an old control keyboards dismissed by my company, so I created a Interceptor fighter space egg.
The egg is part of a huge fleet that in 3019 was used to protect Earth from hostile creatures periodically attacking the Planet. They were drones, without any pilot, they were controlled from Earth based operators.
I had planned to make an ironic sci-fi diorama, I already have some astronauts and alien figurines and some drawings, but I have not enough time!

Ciao!

Frankly, having both at home wasn't in my plans when I retired but when the economy slumped, people put off their retirements which isn't good for our young people looking for jobs. My daughter, at age 26, is a teacher but can only find supply teaching jobs currently, so that's put a damper on her lifestyle choices. My son is just 22, starting out with a good company as a chemical engineer, so he could move out but as I related below, why would he when he has it made here. I broached the idea of charging him rent but quickly withdrew that proposal when I received a withering glare from my wife!  :o

Cheers,

Chris
You can have it good; You can have it fast; you can have it cheap. Pick any two, but all three are impossible.

Chris,
I get the "withering glare", hopefully yours is delivered in silence; mine not so much when I last tried a similar approach. Thankfully they are all finally on their own (and I get to keep my part of the hobby space)
Cheers,
Lance :)

Very nice Ken, neat, tidy and airy, the prop gives a nice feel about the room.

Thanks!

And the wife loves it!  believe it or not talking her into having an old wood prop hanging in the den... wasn't a problem at all....  (not really in my work area, because it wouldn't fit) Hanging over the pool table ....

Nice little corner you've got there, Galloway. Is it alway's so neat?
Mine is about the same area but usually looks like the proverbial bomb just went off in the middle of it.........
