Magnificent wood work Danny, and Thanks for the tutorial. I decided recently to switch to the oil technique on my next build, so this is perfect timing for me. Your Roland is spectacular, and still far from finished!!
Cheers,
Lance

Thank's Martin. :)

Yesterday i did some detail work on the fuselage, and started to tackle the Spandau machineguns.

Regarding the painting of the hatches, and other stuff i used Vallejo Model Air Pale blue. After this was done, i gave all those a wash of Tamiya smoke.

A small update, but surely not the last

Hello Danny:

Looking mighty fine.  Thanks too for the tutorial.  I have been experimenting with that method but not the extent to which you did.  Very nicely done.  The wood look has that nice "honey" tone, you can almost smell it looking at the photo's.
The hatches and other hardware turned out nice as well with the use of the Tamiya Smoke.  Outstanding work all around.

Best

Mark
