Thank you all for your very kind comments.  They warm my heart on this blustery, rainy winter's day.
Hello Bud,

Your tripe and first WnW build looks tremendous my friend. You are almost at the finish now. Compared to what I did with the kit it is magic. Maybe a silly question, was the nose cap only used on the Maud tripe?

Kind regards
Patrick
Patrick, all of the photos I've seen of Maud, both in her earlier markings and the later ones I've shown here, show her with the pointed spinner.  I've also seen photos of a captured Tripe in German markings with a spinner.  Not the same ship, so there were at least two.  The kit doesn't provide for a spinner, so I had to pilfer this one from the Biff kit and sand it down to the proper size.
A second from the second Amigo! Just beautiful work on this one! Wish you could have finished its partner as you have it looking like it should be 1/32nd!
RAGIII
I do intend to finish the little one soon, amigo.  Just don't have enough time to finish both by tomorrow.  In fact, I should probably get off the computer and get to work!

Scott, these WNW kits are so perfectly engineered, they go together so beautifully.  There's nothing even close in 1/48 scale.  Yes, I'm hooked.  However, I still love working in 1/48 scale, so it's unlikely I'll be selling off my stash any time soon.  I'll just keep working these bigguns in with the littluns as I go along.  I will, however, pass your email address on to my lovely bride so she can give you first dibs when I die.  ;)
Cheers,
Bud

Belatedly, congratulations Bud. This is a wonderful and an inspiring piece of work on one of my favourite aircraft.

Best wishes

She's a real beauty Bud! Your woodwork looks superb. Still a dyed in the wool 1:48 modeller or can we expect to see more WnW builds in the near future?

Cheers,

Chris
You can have it good; You can have it fast; you can have it cheap. Pick any two, but all three are impossible.

Well, now I see what all the hub-bub is about.  After building this one, I am now officially hooked.  I still love 1/48 scale and most of my future projects will be 1/48-1/32 dual builds, but, man, do I love these kits.
Cheers,
Bud

Bud,
You did beautifully sir. I'm still firmly committed to my favorite scale too, BUT after finally breaking down and buying a couple of WNW kits I can say I'm excited about the possibility of building one.

I do regret not having room or the available cash for a Felixstowe though.  :D ;)  S'ok, I've got a Roden Felix in the stash.

Thanks, Rick!  She took first.  My Oeffag D.II took second and my Rumpler C.I took third.  In my opinion, those two, my Comic and my Phonix are better models than the Tripe.  Just proof positive that in an "all scales" category, a WNW kit will win over models in other scales.
Cheers,
Bud

Hello Bud:

This turned out to be one sweet model.  Your machined metal on the metal cowling parts really looks the business.  I'll bet that is what tipped the judges in your favor.  You did an outstanding job.

Best

Thanks, Mark!  I had a quite a number of people ask me how that was done, so I reckon you may be right.
