Dittos here, especially your  cocking handle. Would the fit problem apply to say the Se 5  or any other a/c using the Vickers ?

Bud,
Your mix of the kit and Gaspatch parts turned out beautifully! Looking great and waiting for your update on the painting!

Thanks, guys!
Ed, I have no idea if the Gaspatch Vickers will fit any of the other WNW kits without modification.  Haven't tried it yet.  I've got the SE5a winging it's way to California for Father's Day as we speak (...er, type?) ???, so I'll test it out.
Sorry, Bo.  :-[ The cocking handle is from the kit pe.  I actually like it better than the Gaspatch version.  Can't beat that hollow Gaspatch cooling jacket, though.  Just had to see what it looked like in situ.

As predicted, got the undersurfaces painted today.  Fell in love with Humbrol paints in the process.  Haven't used them in years.  I just hate those little tins.  Not fond of the drying time, either.  But, man, do I love the way it goes on.  So smooth and even.  And the colors are spot on, imho.

The big'n:

and the wee, little'n:

and all together again.

Cheers,
Bud

looking so nice budrow, your underside have and excellent finish. oh and i have to agree on humbrol, its the only enamel i use besides the odd model master which always let me down but theres a few colors i really like. anyways i had to also mention you vickers surgery came out perfect. how do you like 1/32? for me as you may have heard ( er...read.) me express after buying 15 or so wnw kits i still have not finished one. i keep going back to 1/48 which i find more fun. the wnw kits are gorgeous and there is much more option to detail stuff as i will be seen more, but i just like my old 1/48s better. i have even been messing with 1/72 stuff lately which to me is fun to do a quick build and make myself feel like i accomplised something. in 1/72 you mainly just have to suggest a detail is there. in 1/48 the detail is there but simplified and in 1/32 you can do endless detailling which is the downfall too me. i dont want every build to end up like bo's albatros, masterpiece that it is. its just so time consuming. gimme 1/48....still

Bud,
Looking really good! Forgive me if I missed it earlier on, what Humbrol colour are you using for the CDL?
Cheers,
Lance

Lovely work Bud.

Lance has just asked the question in my mind.

ALBATROS1234 has also hit on a point I've been mulling over. As soon as things settle down in my life I want to make the transition to 1/32 but there's still some 1/48 work to finish off. I also made the fatal mistake of looking at the stash and spotting another 1/48 that I'd forgotten about and thinking, yes that would be an interesting build.

Best wishes
Nigel

More good progress, Bud -

I like what you have done with your work on the MG.   Looks very realistic now painted and fitted in place.

I just happened on this build log Bud since my return and will be following with interest. You're exhibiting your standard level of superb modelling ability, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of the same.  So, are you hooked on 1:32 scale yet?

Cheers,

Chris

Beautiful even paintwork on the wings, Bud. You're going to need a bigger
workbench, my friend! ;) ;D

Thanks for your kindness, folks!
Scott and Nigel, I'm still an ardent quarter scaler, but I do enjoy these WNW kits.  That said, with each future WNW build I do, I'll probably do it as a dual build with it's 1/48 scale counterpart.  Like the two of you, I have a huge 1/48 scale stash with far too many interesting subjects to just give them all up.
So, are you hooked on 1:32 scale yet?
Not so much the scale, Chris, but I am developing a liking for Sir Peter's products.  They're amazing.  I can't see myself building a Roden 1/32 scale kit, for example.
Bud,

I'm just using the WNW call-outs for the Humbrol paints, Lance.  CDL=Humbrol 121, PC12=Humbrol 98.  What convinced me to give Humbrol a try was a Bristol Fighter build I saw recently where Humbrol 155 was used for PC10.  Looked like a perfect match to me.
Cheers,
Bud

Bud,
Sorry for the late response to your painting update! The CDL looks perfect as does the rib work! I like Humbrol also but it is getting more difficult to find. The Tins are a pain but one can transfer the paint to a mixing bottle.
