Many thanks, Paulo and Patrick!  You're making me blush.

Got the lozenge in place now, ready for the red and white paint.  Hopefully the loz will just barely show through when I'm finished.  Didn't want to waste any of my good Wood and Wire or Aviattic lozenge for this purpose, so I'm sacraficing some old Eduard 4 color to the cause.

Cheers,
Bud

Good idea about the under-lozenge, Bud.  I'm anxious to see how it
looks faded under a coat of paint.  Very nice installation of the lozenge
decals, by the way.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Bud, The Lozenge is looking really nice. I am taking the same approach on my fuselage and tail surfaces. I will be using the WNW Lozenge, then over painting/ Looking forward to your Overspray!

Great stuff Bud!  I'll go to school on your overpaint when I do a Jasta 18 bird in 1/32, as I too have the Pheon sheet.  :D

Have I mentioned that your model looks detailed like 1/32, even though it's 1/48?  Very well done my friend!

Regards,

Bob

Blimey, Bud -

Looking great and progressing fast on this one - has the fit been good so far?

She's looking wonderful Bud, the lozenge decal application is excellent and once over painted should really look the part.

Thanks so much, gentlemen.  You're all far too kind.  But, I'll take it. ;)
I think the red over the loz turned out okay.  I didn't want it to be too translucent, just barely showing through.  I'm happy with it.

Now for the white.
Cheers,
Bud

That turned out excellent Bud, the very subtle translucent effect of the lozenge decal is superb, can't wait to see what you do with the rest of the aeroplane.

Des.

ps - what red did you use?

Thanks, Des!  I used Tamiya Ferrari Mica Red.  To my eye, it looked closest to the cover art of the Osprey Jasta 18 book.  Some post shading and a little weathering should tone it down some.
Cheers,
Bud

Bud,
Your over paint is excellent! I hope I nail my yellow fuselage as well as you have your wings!

Lovely red! That looks just right over the Loz. Nice interior too.
