Hi Rick:

I am getting back into the forum as the weather is heading south and the motorcycle is all but put away.  I have a stalled DVII on the bench and your work is inspiring me to get back at it.  As always Rick, your work is stellar and the Aviatic decals, well, they look great!  So many great aftermarket products now for the 1/32nd WWI Modeler.  I will be following your build and look forward to your updates.

Best

Mark

Thanks Mark. Your interest and support are always appreciated!

Rick,

You and Bud are really progressing, I'm lagging way behind, have not even started one of these yet as have 2 "other" projects in the queque.

Amigo 3

Thanks amigo  8) This kit really lends itself to relatively quick building.... unless you are detailing like Bo  ;D

I got a little carried away with construction and didn't take any photos of the panel before installation  :-[ That being said, a little touch up on the seat and the fuselage gets joined today.

PS: Also noticed a little touch up/re- gluing needed on the framework when I looked at the photos........ took care of that right away.

If all goes well with the remainder of my build and time allows I will be using this figure with my DVII:

I am really looking forward to yourself painting the pilot's figure. Choosing the mantafigurines one was a very good decision as this pilot goes rather well with your Fokker.

Thanks Stefan. The figure is nicely sculpted. Eventually I may also use the Kellrkind Mechanic with the Heinecke chute to augment the Pilot..... We shall see  ???

Thanks Patrick! I truly appreciate your comments. I have progressed since the last photos. I have added some wrinkles to the fuselage side using my usual technique of Delta Ceramicoat  acrylics, and have primed the fuselage in order to apply the WNW Lozenge. This will of course be painted over with Yellow!

I have assembled the fuselage and applied the WNW Lozenge. The nose panel and radiator were difficult to align, more so than my first WNW early Fokker Built DVII. I don't know if others had this issue but the part numbers for the lower fuselage panel and radiator, side panels etc. DID NOT Match the Numbers on the sprues? In the end I looked at the parts not for use and used the ones in the right positions.

Gorgeous work, Rick.  You did a brilliant job with the lozenge application.  Looking forward to seeing it painted over with yellow.
Cheers,
Bud

Thanks Bud! This is pretty standard WNW cookie cutter stuff. The colors are not that good but a tone down helps. Fortunately with the over paint a little bright is ok!

Very nice decaling, a perfect job for the lighter tone of yellow to be quite smooth.

Beautiful work, Rick.  If my models come out as good as yours, I would
be some proud!  Lovely job and I look forward to the next photos.  They
will be a great reference when I finally get to my D.VII.

Cheers,
Ernie :)
