Nice one!
I see you have some of those WNW boxes becoming unglued as well? Some of mine have the same issue, which seems to be only with the last issues (the Barker Snipe)

Several WNW boxes have just gotten loose here too. And I don’t open to peek more than once or twice a year.

Hi all - so, not exactly WNWs, but.... I picked this one up recently:

I remember seeing this set as a kid in a hobby store whilst away on holiday with my parents, but not having the pocket money immediately to hand at the time to buy it. I was wowed by the full set of amazing fighter aircraft and drooled at the possibilities and mock dogfights I could have with these ones. Alas, I didn't see it for many years afterwards, but I did see the individual kits themselves (and picked one up here and there). When I saw this recently, I had the pang of nostalgia, and the 'I remember that!' moment (misidentified aircraft and all). This time, I had enough pocket money, so here it is, the set of Esci flghters! Tally ho!

So, not mind boggling or earth shatteringly rare, but kinda a cool addition to the nostalgia pile.

Cheers,

BC

I can't believe that the infrequent posts here really reflect what we are indeed buying! I make no bones about it: I am a collector of kits and sometimes a builder too! Here are my two most recent acquisitions; firstly a Spad XIII from Roden and I have made inroads already, the wings are together and lots of putty has been thrown at it, but it looks good so far...

... And then there is the kit to trump all kits, the Meng 1/24 Dr.1 Triplane... Quite a production and it impresses me enormously... love the medal and the ready rolled PE for the barrels of the machine guns, that will save me two weeks! The price of this kit in South Africa wasn't bad... well, we have a Brics trade agreement with China...

I can't wait to start this one, I may need some Aviattic decals!

Enjoy your modelling,
Regards, Marc.

Looks great Marc. Is the medal shown from the back? I see no gold writing on it "Pour Le=Merit"
Cheers,
Gary

Well spotted, Gary!

Yes my fault, here's the other side... looks good...

I wonder if you're allowed to award this to yourself if you destroy 20 Allied airplane kits?

Only kidding!

Regards,

Marc

Great kits to your collection, Monty.

I've asked my sons to get the 1/24 Meng Dr1 kit as a Christmas present - looking forward to it!

Dave

A couple of recent offerings from KP.   My wonderful wife gave these to me for my birthday.  Now I can choose whether or not to rebuild my Merlin DH.5 and whether or not to fiddle with the Roseplane Nieuport Triplane conversion/kit.

I put the KP Dolphin and Roland D.II on the Christmas list.  Going from memory, wasn't the main difference between the D.II and D.IIa a different engine?  Also, I did not know Pfalz license built the Roland D.II.  I'm guessing the differences are slight.  Anyone with more knowledge on the subject?

Stuart

Same here!
I just wish WNW would of produced the DH.5 before the sun set on their empire.

Me too, Bob, me too. Of course doing the Lycoming O-320 engine conversion and new prop will be easier in 1/72...
