Double diamond complete! Thank goodness for that!  :o
Weathering filters to come - I'm not looking forward to messing with the old girl's makeup, but needs must  :-*

Wonderful work with the prop and spinner Bob, the chipping looks superb, and your work with the diamonds is exceptional, looking forward to seeing more updates.

Bob,
Your markings have turned out beautifully! I really like the yellow substitution!

Please don't mess too much, the Pfalz deserves to stay rather clean!

Hi Stefan,
I do agree with you. I will try to keep the weathering subtle and not over-bake the old girl  ;D

Cheers for the nice comments, guys!

Greetings Herr Von Plastic Meister!!

I am catching up with the builds, and this is not a great build log, but I certainly enjoy the comments and your approach to modeling Bob!  I do like the Pfalz and I will be watching how you progress.  The wheels look fantastic, gives it that "vintage" look.  I like the clean, slightly weathered look myself, but that is my opinion.  I like how you did the spinner.
Onward and upward!

Best

Looking great... i enjoy the diamonds very much... they remind me of that song "Diamons are Bob's best friend"... or something similiar to that! :P

Well... here is a micro update  :P
Cross masked and sprayed - not sure about alignment - looks off to me  :-[ Could it be an optical illusion?

We march on inexorably towards finality  ???

Looks wonderful Bob!  The cross seams to be aligned correcty, and it's aligned properly within the diamond, so it must be correct.  I suspect an optical illusion based on the taper of that lovely fuselage.  Well done my friend!

Regards,

Bob

Hi Bob, I am looking forward to see this build progress, too.
As for the cross, I am afraid only you can assess if it is aligned correctly on the real object. Photos may be too deceiving. If I had to tell, I see the cross slightly too much to the rear. But as rhallinger put it - it might be the fuselage shape fault.

Bob,

if you really need to know about misaligned crosses, provide better photos to judge from. In any case - you should leave it as it is. Redoing all this, i think, would cause more trouble/damage to a beautiful model then keeping a slightly misaligned cross.

From the photo you provided I can only guess.

Hi Bob,

why not photograph the model from the same angle/viewpoint as your reference pic, if you can, and compare the two for cross alignment?

Needless to say, sometimes changing what you have already done can lead to a lesser job (in my experience anyway!) and this looks great to me so far :)
