Nice engine, what did you use for the 'lagging'?

I cut very thin strips of Tamiya tape for the lagging. The thinner the cuts the easier it is to wrap around the inlets.  ;)

Thanks for all the nice comments. I hope to have her buttoned up next week ready for the Big Push!

Cheers,
Von Buckle  :)

Bob, that's a great tip about the lagging.  It looks first-rate!

Hello friends  ;)

This build has been and continues to be a breath of fresh air. No fussing, no worrying, no stressing, just good clean fun!
The level of detail in this kit (aftermarket stuff aside) is superb. I love it!!

All closed up. Bowden cables fitted, identification plates on the engine lump...Not sure why I bothered, you need Hubbell to see them  ;D
Exhaust hanging on with tamiya tape.
More on the way.

Looking good Bob..

I know how you feel - I recently got a 1/144th Me262 which I built and finished in an afternoon - it was liberating! It was like being 8 again..  ;D

von Pfalzbuilder,
I assume the rigging will include von Buckle's Buckles............or are we in danger of a dwindling inventory............hopefully not! It's a joy to see you enjoying a Build and getting a break from the factory. I'm very pleased that I stocked up on your products prior to your return to the Builder's Club! Enjoy to the fullest. 8)
Cheers,
Lance ;)

Hi Lance,
I will be stringing the old girl with my buckles! - be rude not too!   ;) Bob's Buckles ... It's got my name on it!

The Buckle factory is still open and orders are still hitting the virtual mat.
Long may my services be required and long may I be poisoned by Tamiya extra thin cement  :o

Hello Bob:

I am just catching up a bit, and am enjoying following your build thread.  Your engine really looks the business!  Wires not withstanding!  I think sometimes we get so wrapped around the axle on sub assemblies that we forget how it will look in the whole and a lot of times, depending on the builder of course, the extra work just can't be seen.  I like the wheels; a nice vintage touch which can be seen.
Looking forward to seeing it come together.
Wouldn't it be sacrelige to not use your buckles?  :o

Best
