« on: April 29, 2012, 04:37:52 PM »
All,

Here is the start of this nice kit.  I got it at a model show for $5!!!  ;D

Nice fit so far.  I'll open up the cockpits tomorrow and get all the parts sanded too.

Thanks for looking!  Dan

Hello All,

Not much, but a bit more done tonight.  This thing seems to line up just right.  The tails will be square and true with little playing around.  The forward machine gun looks a little stunted to me...we'll see.

What you can't see in the photos are the interior bulk heads which have been trimmed and fit nicely.  Tomorrow I'll start putting in some framework, seats and some more interior bits and pieces.  This thing looks so odd next to the Bristol of the same scale.  The fuselage is sooooo short!!  Can't wait until they are both done.

Thanks for looking at this tiny update.

Dan

The kit is coming together very nicely Dan, it will be very interesting to see all the internal details added.

Its a really nice mould, surface detail is restrained and good plastic. These Sierra Scale kits are excellent, and the finished kit will be a treat. I've recently got their 1:48 UFAG C.I, good kit too.

Regards :)

Looking great! I have Sierra scales Rumpler C1. I started it years ago and stopped after getting the fuselage cut out and sanded. All of the vac builds recently are making it tempting to go back to a couple of OLD projects

Hi  Gregory...

I got the Datafile on it and then the darn Staaken got moving...I must get going on it, though.   :-[

I promise to add some interior this weekend!  I'll be doing that to the Staaken too...

All,

Finally something new to report.  Hooorrraayyyyy!!! :o ;D ;D

Now that some other projects are done, I'm getting back into this nice little kit.  Everything has been shaped and sanded, upper and lower wing halves glued, dihedral set and all holes for struts and rigging drilled.  Next I'll start adding the interior tubular steel.  Should go together pretty well.  So far, the fit is really nice.

More soon...Dan
