Based on the photo it looks a bit more space- manageable than the Gotha so it may sell well to those wanting a showpiece in their Wingnut Wings collection.

As to Richard's ( BStachel) comments that WNW don't tell us of new or forthcoming releases etc through their website or forums such as this, it's apparently traditional for new products to be announced at major trade shows such as Shizuoka where Wingnuts has a stand this year. I'm sure the AEG will soon appear as 'in development' on the Wingnuts site among the model kitsets selection.

As for such announcements on forums such as this, WNW does not announce any new products on the forums. They leave it to modellers to do their free PR for them. Go through the various forums' histories and you will never see a post from Wingnut Wings. But they are there every day monitoring any post relating to them or their kits, they just don't ever post any comments or news.

Take the AEG announcement. They show the model at Shizuoka and we, the customers, take to the forums to promote it for them.

No one should be surprised at this approach by WNW.  They came into existence out of nowhere and have always relied upon word of mouth to spread the word.  I could not care less about their habits for announcing new subjects.  I buy their models because they are well made.

Wonderful!!!  :D

I was tempted by the Gotha but is too big.. this looks perfect.

Ok, I have almost finished my Fe2b and  ordered my next project ( Roland DVI).

The next one will be this or the Salmson  ... or both  ::)

Right you are Dave:  Pretty ingenious as their advertising costs are probably next to nothing.  As Bill Murray said in Caddy Shack: "How about a little something for the effort" would be nice: A friendly "nod" to the modelers; but it is fun to see this stuff appear as if out of nowhere, and then there is the big "bombshell" they usually drop around Christmas.   Dave Johnson does come on the forums on occasion.  Keeps us all coming back for more.

The hobby show finishes today in Japan so I can imagine that something will be posted on the Wingnuts website tomorrow, but it will only be listed as ''in development''. It could be a year before we actually see this kit released or it might be one of Wingnuts surprise releases around Christmas.

I have only been around for one surprise release -- the Hannover -- were the others publicized before their "surprise release"?

Hello Bo:

IIRC the NINAK was a surprise release right before Christmas in 2010, albeit it was known it was going to be released.  I think the PFALZ DXII was also a surprise release, but not sure when; I'm thinking during the middle of 2011, July or August something like that.  WNW sure kept the lid on the Hannover dropping a real bombshell on the WWI A/C Modeling community.
