Cool! I am a great admirer of your subtle rib tape highlighting technique (which I now use myself). IMO this is a realistic approach that uses some artistic licence to enhance the model and make it visually interesting.

Beautiful work Prze! As mentioned earlier, I'm experimenting with trying to do some rip tape highlights, which in our scale, isn't easy. Your work inspires me to carry on with that.

Great colours! Any particular brand/recipe for the purple and green? And I agree with Warren that the ribs are well done and help bring the surface to life.

Thanks.
That shading is not difficult. 0.4mm Aizu tapes and a mist of clear-black mix with black just to give the tint, far clearer than the notorious smoke colour. Some practice is necessary to get your favourite proportions, which also should depend on the darkness of the base colour. It is optimal imho that you get the required hue after 3-4 airbrush passes which allows to control the intensity.

Unfortunately the colours are the custom mixes of Vallejo basic colours: Purpura Real with Gris Claro and Verde Refractorio with Gris Claro. Both green and purple were too intensive without the addition of grey.

Thanks Prze!  I have heard a number of modelers complain about Tamiya smoke. I have wondered if just plain black would be too stark, even thinned that much.

It is always best to find your own proportions. For the light blue grey here I used 6 drops of clear and just a trace of black - the toothpick end touched the black paint drop.

Thank you, Gary

Red nose, green tail, light grey fuselage and the main paint job finished. Now for the decals including the tricky red trim of the tail surfaces.

That is progressing very well indeed, best of luck with the tail decals.
