Just beautiful Paul!  Very inspiring work you have there.

Thanks Tim  ;D

Almost there Paul, looks beautiful already.
I'm with Alexis, I have the BlueMax kit AND the datafile all ready, my own LVG build may move up the line.

Cheers Allan
Go on, crack open teh Blue Max box and dive in (you know you want to) ;)

Getting there..... You have just under two weeks to get her finished..... ;)

 ;D
Counting down the days Nigel (If only other stuff didn't keep getting in the way I'd be knocking them out more regularly)  ::)

Crafty idea with the jig , boy is she look sharp with the rigging in place . Do you run all the riggings through the lower wing under side ?

Hello Bertyl - I would love to see some progress on your LVG.  I have been working on my LVG using your previous pictures as inspiration and the FB Brussels LVG restoration page. Many corrections are required.

Yes, there are an incredible amount of corrections needed to the kit.
Unfortunately, my WNW LVG has been sitting on the shelf for a few years in its original state.
There is a construction report in the German airplane forum (www (point) Flugzeugforum.de), more in-depth and with considerably more pictures than was the case here in the forum.
However, you have to register there to see the pictures.

Crack on with the WW version - I've saw a finished one in the flesh last year and it just looks 'right' (In fact it was the inspiration for this build) ;)

Anyway underwing decals are now done and drying waiting for last varnish coat  :)
After clean up of rigging, touch up and then add gloss coat, then Aviattic lozenge, another gloss coat then Eduard rib tapes then after 24 hours remove the clear carrier film from the rib tapes and add tape around edge (Aviattic lozenge printed on white film rather than the usual clear) using thinned PVA as adhesive, let dry then add crosses, then pause for breath and have a coffee  8)

Busy week at work coming up so will be some early morning starts to get it ready for Sunday

Paul

ps - just spotted I need to trim up the edging strip still . . .  :-\

I missed an update but have made up for the lapse. The rigging looks great and now there is No evidence of the exit on the lower side. I think you are going to make the deadline for sure Paul!

Apologies for the lack of updates, but I did manage to get this one done (sort of) for the show  ;D

The kit undercarriage legs seemed a bit long compared to photo's and plans so need a couple of mm trimming from them and having done that I replaced the axle and spreader bar with scratchbuilt items. Bungee cords from cotton thread. Tailskid was okay, but I couldn't get the model to 'sit' correctly with it so made up a new one from filed brass rod, brass wire and superglue which looks better.

A few details added to the rear cockpit with a Miniworld machine gun (I was tempted to use a Lewis that can be sen in several photos of LVG's, but decided to save that idea for another model)

Anyway here are a few detail pics and a couple of it mounted on it's new base

(Lift here and arrows are handpainted because I couldn't source any suitable decals)

Thanks for following along. Hope you've enjoyed this one as much as I did.

Now for the best bit of any build - deciding what's next up ;D

Congratulations. I absolutely love it.
The wonderful jewel like quality you've incorporated in this build is really making me think about changing my go-to build scale form 1/48 to 1/72.
Thanks,
Allan Buttrick

This is fantastic work! So delicate and you have managed to keep the model looking so realistic regarding the uniform finish and the scale all over. Stunning stuff!

Cheers, Skyhook
