There's some awesome talent on display here. I concur with all the compliments on that fabulous wood grain. And at 1/72 too!

Now we're getting somewhere  ;)

Jig knocked up from foam board. You'll also notice the non-standard exhaust which was made up from stretched sprue (Typical that I'd pick a model that needed something different adding; the 'winter' shroud was also cut down from full depth although that wasn't quite so tricky to sort out)
Machine gun is from an Eduard kit (DVII from memory) and I'll add the windscreen and other cockpit details once it's sitting on it's wheels

And here it sits. Top wing in place and everything square. To try and avoid my usual superglue mess I've used epoxy for the struts and will turn it over and add superglue to the top joints later and then we'll see if I can get all the various cables into the right place without losing any  ::)

The wing really looks great in place! I admire you guys that can just throw together a perfect home made jig! Almost as impressive as the Model  8)

I shall never forget my admiration for that German pilot, who single handed, fought seven of us for ten minutes. I saw him go into a fairly steep dive and so I continued to watch, and then saw the triplane hit the ground and disappear into a thousand fragments...James McCudden

Cheers RAGIII this one's much simler than my usual to try and leave a bit of room so I could see the strut location holes.

Nice work!

Glad you like it Alexis. Do break out the Blue Max kit; it'd be a lovely model in 48th 8)

Just about there with the rigging now. Here's what I've made for helping with this stage having managed using an open hardback book for that same job for the last couple of years  ::) Some scrap 6 mm MDF  pieces from a DIY project slotted but not glued into a base piece so it can lay flat and out of the way until required.
Next is clean up and apply decals to the bottom of the lower wing

Almost there Paul, looks beautiful already.
I'm with Alexis, I have the BlueMax kit AND the datafile all ready, my own LVG build may move up the line.
Thanks,
Allan Buttrick
