I'd intended this one to be an entry into the Shelf Queen group build, but didn't take any photos of the earlier stages, but it's being completed in the spirit of the event anyway.
It's KP's version of the LVG CVI (based on the old Ardpol kit?) and is really nice. It's easily the best of KP's ww1 kits that I've seen and needs only a few details adding if you are that way inclined. I started it some time last year by cutting parts out and making replacement struts, but didn't get much further before being distracted by other models

Anyway I've been working on it since the Bovington show in early February to see how long it actually takes me to build a model (hoping to get it ready for the event at Yeovil this weekend, but sadly it's going to miss that by a week or so)
A couple of early pics showing the woodwork and extra details on the bottom of the fuselage. The model is based on a profile that appeared in the Wingnut Camel/LVG build magazine chosen because of the cut down winter cowl and upright exhaust that gave it a slightly different look.

Wings were covered in Aviattic lozenge with rib tapes from Eduard. (Spray in white primer, add gloss coat, decal, gloss coat, add rib tapes, remove 'clear' decal film and add varnish coat)

You may notice the factory fresh finish of the elevator compared to the faded tail with a couple of linen patches just to break up the finish.
Since I like to use fishing line 'through the wing' the bottoms were covered and finished then lines were threaded and top holes dressed off/filled before gloss and decals could be added.
