Dave, thanks mate! If I land in the shadow of your DH, I'm happy.
Rob, per Chris's suggestion I've dusted the wing tops with very thin OD green to lessen the contrast; less is more.  I'm close to clear coating the wings, and decaling. Here is the fuselage, which is sprayed with the called out Grey. I then took some good old Testors grey and lightened it up a lot, and re-sprayed to get some contrasty stuff. Touch up filling and then back with some straight grey to add some more shades of grey, but I'm not going to 50. Here is this mornings work:

Will you look at that...it's my buddy Mike. Your doing great on this DH.9. Looks like your pretty close to attach the wings to fuselage. Keep it up and I bet those guys at the museum will love her.

Sorry  for the delay responding!
Ed, I have never been to an O/Con, so this year I'd like to go. Hopefully I can take this bird.
Steve, Thanks mate, the grey should show up some fuel/oil stains as well.
Mike, thanks for dropping by. The standard here is very high, and the best part is the members are so helpful. A lot of the builds are crazy good, so for me it's a continuing evolution.
Gregory, thanks mate. I am at a point where I seem to take 1 step forward, and then go sideways. I hope to get some progress soon, and maybe even post a piccie or three.

Mike,
Stay the course, if sideways is the extent of your stumbling blocks it's far better then my act. (one step forward followed by three backwards!) :o She's coming along beautifully.
Cheers,
Lance ;)

Hi Mike:

I think you are doing a great job with the shading.  Always an experiment and a learning experience.  We never know how it will turn out.  The highlights give it depth and character.  I built one when it was first released about three years ago (YIkes) with no shading, now I would do it with shading following your example and techniques.  Looking forward to seeing you progress on this one.

Best

Mark
