Hi Mike,
very beautiful detail work on your D.V.
I like it very much - I am an
absolute fan of such fine details that are often only recognizable at second glance.
That's the salt in the soup.
But allow me a hint:
The first Albatros production lots did not yet have the wooden panel joints running transverse to the direction of flight under the engine (from the sheet metal of the nose to the front edge of the wooden wing root).
These were still installed longitudinally.
Unfortunately, I have no exact information about the factory number from which the longitudinal joints were changed to transverse joints.
The 2006/17 certainly belonged to the production batch of the longitudinal panels.
See picture of the immediate predecessor of the 2005/17
I think it would not be too late to fill the transverse joints and engrave the longitudinal joints on the model. In the picture below you can see how many panels there were and where the joints should be.
Unfortunately, Wingnut Wings did not include this small detail in their mold for the D.V.
Correctly, two hulls with different joint shapes should have been integrated into the D.V kit.
Or, as with their later kits, an “early” and a “late” version.

In the Albatros D.Va kit, transverse joints are correct.
Another eye-catching detail on the wings are the “Nicht auftreten” (Do not step on it) warnings for the mechanics.
