You're off to a great start Des. You build faster than anyone else I know so I reckon you'll have this one done by the weekend. Not to put any pressure on you though . . .  ;D

Cheers,

Chris

Hello Des:

The seat looks the business.  It is amazing just a simple drilling out of the holes and the effect is well worth the effort.  I too will be watching this with "keen interest". ::)

Best

Following you has served me well since our days back on the 'drome, mate!  I couldn't ask for a better tutor.
Cheers,
Bud

been debateing on whether or not to get the wnw snipe. i must say not one of my all time favorite planes. kinda reminds me of a camel with downs syndrome.however i do have a hi-tech 1/48 snipe that i bought from lance recently. so i will view your build to see if the snipe grows on me. i like the salamander better especially the camoflaged ones. and they look a bit diff albeit slightly. upon reviewing the instructions from both early and late snipe online i thought right off i would get the late and do the russian one with the black stars so this should be a popular scheme. have fun knocking this one up . i am kinda waiting to see you get on with the caudron.

Thanks Bud for your vote of confidence in my model building ability, I just hope I can live up to it with this build.

Scott, The Caudron is still on my build list, it will probably be the next build after this Snipe, I'm still gathering information on the aircraft. Flip, one of our members, has been sending me some great close-up photos of a Caudron in a museum close to where he lives.

Dave, It may not be the prettiest aircraft ever built but it has a certain appeal about it, I think the post war colour schemes will be a big hit for this kit. I have opted for the Soviet scheme, it looks pretty cool and is something totally different.

  Des,
Outstanding first progress my old friend. As always I know I can look forward to more fine skill and Master Class craftsmanship from your bench. Before I forget I realy like the Hemp you've used for your interior. It appears a tad darker than what I would normally used but It certainly does give the appearance of the exterior paint showing through the fabric covering. Excellent choice in paint color.

I have made a couple of tiny steps. The interior is getting close to being finished, instrument panel is done, fuel tank still needs painting and all the rigging has to be fitted. I replaced the Tacho drive with one that looks more like a flexible drive. Instrument panel still needs a coat of satin clear.
