Thank you.
Your progress on the Lohner looks as intimidating as impressive. I never really felt frightened by the complexity of a kit (before building it, I mean), but that’s really tough what you do here. How do you align the struts? Auxiliary structure made of cardboard? By eye?
Regards,
Andreas
Andreas, I am scared of this kit, too. For the time being I used a cardboard jig for lower wings alignment. And I will also use it when attaching the top wing to stabilize the wing cellule.
The tail assembly was a nightmare and I did it "by eye", a bit of trial and error which was surprisingly successful in the first attempt.

The lower part of the engine support was very stable with its N struts which joined both the engine bearers and the horizontal truss under them. The upper N struts are now attached too, but here my eyes tell me they are not perfectly symmetric in the front view, they will need to be corrected by rigging.
And I have still to decide if I attach the centre section itself and the outer wing panels later followed immediately by interplane struts. Or assemble the complete top wings set before attaching it.
The first option has a danger of not getting the correct sweep back, the second one can be difficult because of the large weight of the wings assembly. In any case, the interplane struts will be attached after the wings are aligned as this is imho the only way to ensure their proper inclination...
Well, it certainly is the most difficult model in my life...
