Hi all,

Since last posting on our little bomb-making side project, I've completed fifteen different types of British bombs/torpedoes ranging from the wee 16lb Hales to the massive 3300lb Major SN, and including some unusual phosphorus types.  All in 1/72.  Still hammering out a few printing quirks, but these should all be ready for production soon.  Really trying to capture as much detail as possible, though the images show failures with some of the finer bits.  We're also still aiming to upscale them 1/48 and 1/32 (where the detail will truly pop), if anyone is interested in those?

These images include some of the earlier designs I've shared alongside some 1/72 figures for perspective (inspired by the ammo dump pics Jamo shared).  Now that I've learned some of the basics on how to design in 3d, I've started tinkering with other accessories, such as the scarff gun mount test print shown at bottom.  I'm also game to render some French and German type bombs, but don't have any drawings to work from yet.  If anyone can recommend some resources I'd be happy to know of them!

These look great and upscaling these to 1:32 scale is an amazing idea!

Hey Malaula,

I haven't really thought that far ahead but the price would be modest. First we have to get these to print consistently well in 1/72.  The parts are so tiny, I have the U-bar fixed in one position to help hold everything together.  If we can get some photo-etch going, that may enable it to be positionable. 1/48 & 1/32 should be no trouble to print separately.   Here are some image captures of the renderings.  What scale are you looking for?

I also just rendered a first draft of the French Etévé (Nieuport) gun ring that was also seen on some Sopwiths.  I'm not sure about all the details (need better images) but we're aiming to test print this over the weekend:

Was able to do a little print run this morning and am happy to report that the Etévé ring printed well in 1/32.  Minor tweaking needed, and I'm still not 100% correct on the details.  If anyone knows of any good images of it I'd be grateful to access them.  Ran it also in 1/72 scale, but this version needs a little more strengthening due to the small details.

With a few improvements the 1/72 Scarff ring printed much better this time:

Magic, surely?!

Those 1/72 scale items must be tiny!

I do 72nd scale only...aren't the scarff rings too fragile in this Scale ?I've had bad experiences with  hand and feet breaking off printed1/72 Figures when painting them.

Looking good! The 1/32nd rings may be a great add on for the Roden Strutter!
