Glad it worked out!  This is what I had planned to do on my Noops, but didn't know if it'd work, now I know it does. :)

Many thanks all although it was RAGIII suggested the idea.  :-[ I just went and bought a roll to try. (Got some funny looks in WH Smiths examining all the different 'sellotape' materials very closely, but eventually settled on this one)  ;D

Seem to have spent a lot of time this week without much to show for it  ::)

Lots of fiddly bits done and both models are at about the same stage now. The engine from the 'old' version was fitted into a cut away cowl so I needed a spare engine; same as before wrapped the cylinders and got it painted up (new one on the left) Of course I then needed a new cowl with the cooling slots cut out  . . . .

Added the detail to the camo wing centre section using scraps of plastic strip

And of course needed to make up a pair of new struts by sanding off the moulded on detail and painting so I now have a pair of upper wings (centre section detail painted in as well)

Finally gave the camo one a coat of Dullcote (Anyone recommend a replacement for this? Ideally acrylic.
(W&N Galleria seems to darken the colours) and repainted the silver ones metal areas and added the painted on details (cockpit combing etc)
I going to use the kit U/C assembly on the second one as well as the forward interplane struts so that I can get them both finished. Italian decals have just arrived for the silver one so all I need to do is decide which scheme to do . . . .

Thank you both. Glad you're enjoying them so far.

Is it just me that find building these things like a game of jeopardy ? The further you get along on the build the greater the pressure not to muck them up with the next stage. . . . ;D

Now that you've written it, I realise that's exactly how I feel while building Great War subjects (and multiplanes in general)!

I have also reached that conclusion! And it goes well with my idea that alla builds start out as flawless and full of opportunity only to be reduced and limited by each step in the build. The largest problem is of course that if you let this realisation get to you, you won't be able to finish a build again. :) So ignore it and press on! :D
