Brilliant work on those Nieuports. Nice idea wrapping the engine cylinders. Did you saw them off , wrap , and then reapply?  The clear tape looks great.
Very sorry to hear about your dog. Nothing but time will heal that void. Just reflect on the joy he/she brought while you were together!

Thanks Tim

Nothing so complicated with the cylinders I'm afraid. ::)
I glued the start end to the backplate temporarily then wrapped each cylinder in situ from base to head. Added some thin superglue after getting to the cylinder top, waited for a bit then cut off the excess  ;)

Here's the TaDa! moment for anyone reading  ;D

And here it is on it's freshly made base -

Finally here are the two together on their bases -

Still need to add the firing cord from the gun to the cockpit and I had to make a few compromises on the gun cradle which is soldered up from brass jewellery wire. Prop is carved from laminated ply and I've replaced a few of the struts with sanded brass wire to get nearer to scale size without making the whole thing becoming impossible to hold, but lots learned from this pair and it'll be nice to get them in the cabinet alongside the earlier Fokker Tripe  :)

Onwards and upwards
Paul

ps - I've got a couple of figures to add to the bases of these at some point, but they are a separate project in themselves

Beautiful Nieuports.
Very beautiful work.
I really like the light snowy grassy area.
This looks very convincing with the traces of the wheels.

Made the full landscape with mud, grass etc. first and then dusted with micro balloons for the snow effect Bertl. Wheel tracks were made before the adhesive had set  :)

Lovely work, nicely presented.

LOL Sandy - you'll be pleased to know there are a couple of kits still on the shelf (Well nearly I have dug one out for a small project)  ;)

Fantastic build on these two Nieuports. Especially the one in the snow is very nice!

Thanks guys

Lovely kit to start with really makes life easier. Although they are pretty small I just can't resist a bargain and the dual combo kits go for a pittance given the quality of the moulding and the many schemes possible (Which is just as well given my rate of breaking the teeny parts) ::)

Had some issues with the rigging which I think I'm starting to get the hang of, but we'll see. Ordered some new superglue to see if that helps
