The fuselage closed, together with engine covers. Some tweeking was necessary to enclose the nose but finally it was easier than I expected. The worst places are at the front cockpit coaming where the rear engine panels touch the fuselage halves. Some tricky sanding will be necessary there, not to damage the fine detail.

It is now a phase of the tedious and little spectacular work. Cleaning of the seams and polishing of the wings and stabilisers surfaces in preparation for Aviattic transparent losenge decals.
And in between some more interesting bits. Like the unusual exhaust which I am building from a spare bit. It was destined for a larger engine so I had to cut off and shorten all six pipes, fill the holes and narrow the chimney. Test fit successful but it also shows a collision with the front cooling pipe (not present in the photos) which will need to be reshaped and rerouted, but that later.

Also, the test fit of the composite stabiliser-elevator element to the fuselage showed that the elevator will be warped. The only remedy I saw was to cut off the elevator and widen a bit the gaps for the hinges to give it some more space to adjust to the shape of the stabiliser. Problem solved.

Finally back to this project. All the parts are cleaned, this included polishing down the surfaces of wings in preparation for transparent losenge decals.
Colouring started. White background will be also shaded with greyish along the ribs. First wood panels done.
And a small detailing amendment - Polish 201/18 had one more inspection at the engine left side, so I scratched the missing cover from a plastic slice and a couple of metal fittings.
