I showed my wife your photos and she was very impressed. When I scrolled to the images with the pencil sharpener her jaw literally dropped and was utterly stunned. Testament to a magnificent piece of work!!

Thank you, gentlemen.

And I have finally carved the wooden prop for this little kit. I will be very unmodest and will say that I am very satisfied with the result.
I have used the 3 ply veneer of 0.8mm thickness, sanded one layer to get two sets of 2 plies and combined them with the 3 ply original to get the 7 layer composite. Then some work with a knife and sanding paper... It works!

Very clever Prez

I wanted to carve a new prop and was struggling to get the correct thickness using plywood - I'll use your method. I'm sure you will have mentioned it somewhere else (and apologies if you did) but how did you finish the propeller?

Thanks
Paul

ps I had to keep going back to confirm that this is a 1/72nd scale model! 8)

Prze, in the absence of ability to commission you to make props for me this is a very handy piece of reference! What a magnificent prop!! And as DaddyO said: it's still staggering to remember this gem is 1/72!

I might have not mentioned it... ;) The carved wooden piece was just sprayed with a mist of Gunze acrylic Clear Orange colour - a few passes to reach the nice warm wood hue. The prop boss is from Part PE, the Axial decals are from the kit.

Brilliant - thanks
(Sanded down the ply so I'll get them glued together and see how it turns out. Carved a lot of props for freeflight models in the past, but this is a bit smaller)

Prze,
Again, you do not fail to amaze with your builds and skills. I've wanted to carve a prop, but have had trouble sourcing veneer the correct thickness.

I found that making this smaller prop is actually easier that the large one for 32nd scale. I think that the problems might occur if one wanted to carve a couple of identical ones for multi-engine aircraft :-)

I got mine from Kotebi. He says this thin plywood is generally available. And I think he can also sell it if you cannot find yours.

A great final touch for a beautiful model Prze. I'm amazed by the quality of shape and finish you've attained in so small a scale, lovely workmanship!
Cheers,
Lance
