Looking terrific above, Rick, I can imagine how you felt when you dropped it. Sounds as if you've recovered it well though. Fingers crossed for the completed pics.

Really Rick, you should get someone else to move your modls for you, especially when they are nearly complete/complete! I am very relieved to read that the damage is minimal and easily(?) repaired. I am looking forward to seeing the completed model in the relevant section - another stunner in your display cabinet I hope.

Stephen.

I was actually quite calm when it happened although I did say Oh Sh..! It was almost comical. I was wearing a pair of Jeans from when I was a bit larger in the waist. While walking the pants began to fall to My knees. I reached to hold them up and the model dropped to the carpet  ;D Although the  rudder and tail plane assembly separated from the booms the rigging held the booms and wings together! The tail and tail skid were dangling from the wires.

Thanks Willem. It is well on the way to recovery although I am going to take today off from re doing the wires.

Bravo Rick! I'm so excited to pop over to Completed models and...
About an hour ago I dropped the DH2' while carrying it from one room to the other Although the tail section separated the structural rigging held! Repairs are done to the structure and I will only need to replace about three wires

Thank goodness it wasn't worse - congratulations on a superb rigging job!

It actually was worse than I reported  ::) God only Knows why I didn't break it up in Anger!!! I was somewhat optimistic in the number of wires needing replacement but am on the way to replacing them today!

The damage has been repaired...more or less. The rigging is now restored and I have added some more Oil staining using Tamiya  smoke and clear orange mixed together.

Thanks Dave. The rigging has taken a beating due to my Self Created issues but it will have to do for now!

 Rick,

I think that you are being too self critical with this one - from the photos at least it really look s the part and I am sure that observers will not see the tiny errors that shout out at you. You have done a super job on the painting and weathering and the rigging looks much better than very good.

I totally agree with Stephen, I can't see any repairs or anything out of place. I'd be proud to have that on display.

That weathering really gives it a beat up look - just the thing to go along with the battle damage!
