Thanks Kevin and Ken  :)

Kevin , yes I have chosen a scheme for this one . Will do Paul Baumer's kite for this one  ;)

Today I spent the time on starting the detailing on the engine to dress it up a bit and add some life to it . I cut 22 push rods and cut the push rod seats out of 5mm brass tubing . The push rods are 3mm and slide right in . Induction pipes are robbed from the parts bin and the spark plugs I still have to trim to size once the glue has fully set .

Thanks Rick ! :)

It came down to ...I can't put this off anymore . Marking the holes in the wings for the strut locations . These aren't mark on the kit parts so rather then spend hours measuring it all out here is another way to mark them . For this I used the scale drawings in Jack Harris book . I lay down Tamiya tape over the plans . Center was marked matching the kit part . I used a black pen marking the strut locations . Pulled the tape off the plans and laid it down on the underside of the top wing lining up the center marks . Lower wings was done in the same manner but I used the wing root edge and the outer edge tip drawing that on the the and marking the strut locations . I used a awl pressing it down on the black dot's . The ink will transfer in to the dents made leaving marks to drill for the struts .

Happy Monday, Terri,
Things should move along well now that you've established the strut locations.
It's all looking great.

Did a little bit more on this one and have the hinge detail added and pins . This was done in a simple manner . The wings are very thick and I'm not spending the time sanding them down , nor do I feel like making new ones . Tail planes are flared in as well and more work on the cowl . The top of the fuselage in not shaped right and will take a fair bit of putty to fix this so I made adjustments to the cowl . Still a bit of clean up to do on the underside but I can live with how this turned out . The fuselage is miss matched and is a challenge on getting things lined up and looking some what ..not have ass bad !

Hi guys ,

Ken , that's because it is metal ;) . I did some polishing to get out the fine scratches from sanding . This will be painted white in the end , but I do like how nice and shine it is .

Frank , do you think he would do one for the nieuport  ;)

Outstanding work on the strut locations and tail construction Terri! That cowling looks amazing...too bad it needs to be painted!
