Thanks to all for the comments. I stared at the model and what photos are available of the real bird and decided I wasn't satisfied with My results. I have sanded down the upper fuselage and left side stripes and will re do them later

The stripes looked pretty good, but if you're not satisfied, best to re-do them. If something is not done to my satisfaction, it bugs me every time I look at the model!

Best way to go if your not happy with the results , will only eat at you in the end . Looking forward to the re-do .

I have painted( Mostly) the band on the fuselage of the Roden DR1. I used decal for the black portions. The band needs a bit of touch up. Slowly getting towards mounting the wings. I hope to work on the re do of the Meng kit stripes later today.

Thanks Fredrik! I spent the rest of today masking and re-painting the Jasta 6 DR1. I like the results much better! On the other hand when painting the tail I forgot to add one small piece of tape....white will need to be touched up

Thanks Bob! I Highly recommend retirement although I hate that Most of us have to get OLD to get there

Today I painted the wing ties, glued them in place and attached the lower wing and lower fuselage. I also added the last of the crosses. Next up is some weathering on both DR1 kits.

I have had to catch up with these builds Rick, and I am bowled over by the stripey looks! Both models are very impressive indeed - particularly the one with wings and fuselage. Your painting skills really are second to none. I also think that the WNW engines are mini-masterpieces and make a super addition to any model.
