I just got confirmation my Fokker DVII (OAW) was shipped.  Looking forward to getting it.  It will by my next build after the Gotha.

Canadian Fokker DVII. I may have second thoughts about waiting a bit...!:

SHOWN FOR DISCUSSION PURPOSES ONLY

The officer is Captain Andrew McKeever, highest scoring Biff ace of the war with 30 victories, whose a/c is the subject of the "mini-group build" by Lance, Chris and me.

And I see that McKeever also flew the Albatros variant with the Richard Kraut markings that WnW thoughtfully provided.

SHOWN FOR DISCUSSION PURPOSES ONLY

Maybe I'll have to bite the bullet and get both the OAW and Albatros versions after the initial frenzy wears off.

Cheers,

Chris

Well now that you've shot your bolt on rigging you can relax with a DVII and like Mark said - post some Dh2 pics. Any traps or things to watch out for on it?

Just ordered one of each, for starters. . .  Luckily, I kept all three Fokker D.VII Anthologies (almost used 'em as a "hook" to help unload (ebay)  that Battle Axe Miststueck years ago!) so I'm presently drooling over the pages. When one gets bored with WWI schemes, there's always Postwar schemes (see Blue Rider Fokker D.VII Foreign  Colour Schemes ISBN 1-902851-14-5)
Merry Christmas to ME!!!!
Regards, Rob

Those three, in conjunction with the datafile #9, and the two Osprey D.VII aces books, make for some interesting eye candy.

OK, I admit it - I wimped: herd culled, seven kits on the block, and an OAW DVII ordered. I TOLD you that I could resist everything but temptation!! If I just hadn't seen that spiffy OAW DVII with the sporty green leaf on the fuselage. Rowan! ROWAN!! Here's your first item for the "Captured!" Volume 2!! (Please, please, please...!!) ;D
Cheers!

I'll be a "Thirder" Rowan, at a minimum we need the green Maple Leaf Logo of the Post War Canadian Airforce tucked into a corner of your next "Captured" Sheet or even a DVII Sheet. It's only proper we honour the fact that we not only used 22 DVIIs in Canada but they were loaned to and flown by Bishop and Barker in their ill fated commercial ventures. Wish I could know more about all of this, info is sparse.
Cheers,

I'm jumping on the bandagon too Rowan. I hope you'll consider a sheet of markings from nations that used the D.VII in the immediate postwar years. Towards that end, here's my hurried impression of the CAF marking. The vector file is yours for the asking!  ;D

Cheers,

Chris

Ye, Gods!

It looks as if I've started a mini-assault on Pheon Models! But some of these ideas are first rate: post-war Fokkers would be really interesting. How 'bout a couple of the a/c used in Hollywood films of the '20's? Bit of a stretch, but perhaps a possibility if we also do up Tiger Moths to look like SE5s (Blue Max)!  :D
Cheers!

I will post when I'm done.  Probably not to the lofty standards around here, but what the heck.  ;D   Pretty amazing kit;  went together very well.  left the undercarriage off until the last possible moment.  Don't rig the booms too tightly, they can bend and make re-alignment tricky.  Otherwise, a pleasure to build, even if the rigging takes saint-like patience.
