I agree with Frank - resin to wood in 5 minutes! Very good start Terri - another gem in the making.

Nicely underway, reckon I'll get another look at your wood simulation technique soon.

I was going to post pic's on Sunday how how the wood effect turned out , put I fell asleep in the chair and I can't even recall what tv show I was viewing !!
So here they are now . I did a different step with this one . After the base coat was dried I used Tamiya flat brown and applied this in a thinned down dry brushing with water and whisked this back and forth until it started to tack up . Letting this fully dry the next coat was with Tamiya red brown . Using a big round brush , wiping off the excess this was the stabbed into the surface all over the place . Once this was dried I turned to the pencil crayons starting with a light brown and light rubbed the surface in random areas . Under the framing and details a reddish brown shade was used . I still have to start sealing with now with a few coats to darken it it up a bit .
Thanks for tagging along guys

Thanks for sharing your 'woodworking' technique in detail. Very helpful for a WW1 novice like me. Looking super so far Terri.

Looks like a boat with wings!? A quite beautiful if odd looking aircraft! It'll be fun to follow your progress.

Over the past few days I have managed to spray the clear orange using Tamiya with a bit of their smoke mixed in . Slowly building up the layers . This is now dry so up next is the detail painting .
