Those look spledid Rick!  The colors look right, and very appealing.  You are moving right along with the triplets!

Best,

Bob

As always thank You Richie. Once painting is done the tempo will slow down as I start to work with the struts and rigging  :o

Thanks Andreas. As I am typing I am almost ready to shoot the rudder and cowling rings.

Rick I am going to have to ask you to slow down...! I am having real problems (x3) keeping up with you. von Bob is building his Pup at warp speed and you are building three Spads even faster!

Great colours and painting BTW.

Stephen.

Thanks Stephen! Like I said to Richie, I think the pace will slow down once I get to the struts and rigging.

So all is now painted. I will have to adjust the width of the white stripe on the rudders as I was just a tad off  ??? Just in case someone wonders about the French blue stripe leading off on the Rickenbacker SPAD it was indeed this way when received. It also had Rickenbackers full markings before the stripe was changed to the blue on the trailing edge of the rudder. Next up clear gloss then applying the markings.

Oh my, Rick!  Those look gorgeous. ;D  Your colors really turned out nice, and the bleu, blanc et rouge rudder stripes really stand out against the camo.  This is really getting exciting! ;D  Well done.

Best,

Bob

BTW, what do you use for clear gloss and how do you apply it?  Thanks.

Awesome looking trio!  You've really done those colors nicely.

Thanks Bob! Yes, the rudder and cowl ring colors do stand out and add a bit of color interest!

PS: The red and blues were mixed to match the Aviattic colors on their roundels using valejo paints.

BTW, what do you use for clear gloss and how do you apply it?  Thanks.

Bob, I gloss coated today. I usually prefer Tamiya Gloss. I didn't have any on hand so I went with Valejo Gloss finish. I also occasionally use Future  8)

Thanks Gaz! I appreciate your comments! These two are ready for decals. The third should hit the paint booth in a couple of days!

A heads up. I've been looking at the Hobbycraft and Roden struts, and it isn't looking good Rick

Roden SPAD VII on the left, Hobbycraft SPAD XIII on the right

The Hobbycraft ones are impossibly anaemic, I'm going to make new ones

The undercarriages:

Hobbycraft on the left, Roden on the right. I had to do a lot of profiling to get the legs to looks right
