So, I had this leftover Roden Oberursel Ur.ii from the Jacobs triplane build and thought I would dress it up some to see what I could do with it. The front and back half of the engine did not exactly matchup, but I pressed on anyway. This one will have the silver colored intake pipes instead of the copper ones.
I discovered the molded crankcase is not exactly correct for either an Oberursel or a Le Rhone. The Oberursel has what looks like a replaceable prop shaft on the front that is bolted on and the Le Rhone has no bolts around the prop shaft.

I made a ring on the lathe and attached some simulated photoetched bolts on the ring and on the outer edges of the crankcase.

Then, turning to the back, I replaced the pushrods with steel wire and added a PE part to the valve actuator arm, to depict the open ball bearing there.

Then started painting with a black base, which didn't seem necessary later, and sprayed with Alclad aluminum with a touch of pale gold. Then weathered with a dark wash and pastels.

I think it turned out well, almost as good as a good aftermarket resin piece.
Now, to find something to put this into...
