More drugs tonight!  Well...my wife made some amazing fudge.  May as well be a drug.  ::)
Tonight I got the cowling done and the tails started.  Looking good thus far!

I need to figure out how to attach the tails.  It's sort of left to the imagination... :P

Cheers,
Dan

Got the tails cobbled together.  They look ok though some of the geometry is a bit off.  Still looks the part!  The tail skid is also nice to have on as it protects everything back there.  I think the wing or the landing gear will be next...Stay tuned.

Thanks, Terri and Rick!  It does look like a D-II so I'm pleased so far...

Made, installed and rigged the landing gear struts.  I'll work on the wings this weekend!

Cheers,
Dan

Wings are pretty soon!  I am starting the engine which is rather tedious but slow and steady wins the race. I got the basic crank case done and it will spin along with the prop on the firewall.  I also got the prop done too.

More tomorrow!

Well , not really Dan , now if this was flying then that would be a different story altogether ::) . That there is icing on the cake along  ;). But you did feed us are addiction and even one up that with a video ! Spinning engine and everything !!!  :) :) :) :)

Have you ever tried to fly one of these when finished ? I do wonder if they would fly .

Hi Terri...

Thanks for the note!  These will fly if you balance them carefully and maybe increase tail areas and give them slight dihedral.  They are pretty heavy as is, so you need to make them out of depron (which folks do) or stick and tissue that I prefer.  My flying models have worked well at about 13 inch span and above.  Those are called "P-nut" scale and there are contests etc. with them and they are finicky but fun to make fly.  There is a scale called "Pistachio" which is only 8 inches wingspan (I think) and I've never had success with those.  Sweet spot seems to be about 18-25 inches and 0.5-1.5 ounces for really light wing loadings and floaty performance!

More soon for your addiction!
Dan
