Another new WNW release?
« on: July 26, 2019, 08:26:22 AM »
Just appeared on Hannants website tonight - WNW announce new Hannover CII early.  There's an image of the box art but nothing as yet on WNW site - more good news  :)

Nice to see a version of the Hannover available again. How does the early model differ from the first release by WNW?

Cool , still have Eduards in the stash but I'm thinking 32 scale would be better .

Rick off the top of my head ...different engine and the early also had verticle struts on the tail plane and something about the gun ring (shape perhaps ) , lovers few more small differences . But nothing major .

Nice to see this one back in the lineup.  Early Christmas release?  I wonder what else is in store for us this year.

Comparing what's included in the box, the only difference in he two kit boxing's is the decals.

The 0/400 and Lancaster kits at least.

One significant difference between the two, as far as I can see, is that this one is available and the other is not.
Cheers,
Bud

PS- Hey, Richard!  How about some new lozenge sets!

I like the fact that the box art shows the subject escorting an Albatros C.VII or C.X

As mentioned the main difference seems to be the upgraded lozenge decals. Someone say Albatros DVII? Is this like the F33 on the Gotha box - a hint of things to come?

Darn I've just done a Hannover! Can't see me doing another...but they are very elegant aircraft and I highly recommend. I'm now waiting - sacrilege!!! - for Wingnut to stray into the Golden Age and do some flyers from the Schneinder Trophy, Thompson Trophy, Bendix etc. Just a dream but a wealth of georgeous airplanes that I'd buy and build in the blink of an eye.

Just had a closer look at this - I can't tell any difference between the previous kit and this one - and I know the previous one intimately. It also had vertical struts on the tail planes for some versions. So effectively a re-release with new decals for alternative schemes. Nothing wrong with that as it is a very cool plane and the previous version is long since sold out...

Cheers

WnW's first Hannover was the first WnW kit ever I bought. I did not dare 1/32th scale, before, but as the Hannover (as well as the Roland C.II) are my boyhood-heroes, I ordered the Hannover as soon as I saw it (same with WnW's Roland C.II - the moment I saw it...). Now, for the actual re-release of the Hannover, I really like some of the schemes that come with it, but I'll probably wait, until WnW release a Cl.IIIa... There are SO MANY tempting kits, WnW are releasing at the moment - hard to cope with that (says my wallet..)!
