There are no washes or other detail painting done yet, varnish is Tamiya clear orange and yellow...with a little more yellow.

Thanks sir, I wanted to get a little brown back in the parts and knock the sting out of the yellow tone that was visible. so mixed up a thin veil of wash brown and it did the trick.

Thanks for checking in Guy, I think to expedite and have more control over toning the other featureless parts I'm going to try and spray the oil paint though the airbrush to even things out.
You know me always experimenting!

Beautiful! The wood grain looks so real and brings so much depth into the model. I'll definitely try to copy your technique it on my next build.
