Thank you Przemol, I have nearly completed the cockpit elements of the DIIIa (BM) yesterday I started moving on with the DIII (ED) cockpit interiors, much easier.
I have not done yet photos, will make them together when both the cockpits will be at the same stage.

Hallo friends, I apologize for not being able to participate more in the forum, by the way I managed to steal to real life some half hours here and there and take my project forward, I still follow all the magnificent build threads going on here and of course I feel like an ant in front of elephants!
:-)

Here is the current state of things: I primed the two fuselage halves, and  built and painted most of the elements that will go inside the two birds:

EDUARD

BLUE MAX

To paint the interiors (and some of the cockpit elements) I did not use the XF 76 as indicated on the WNW instructions (I couldn't find it from my local shop, so I mixed
Lifecolor UA 074 (Light blue RLM 76) with a couple of drops of Lifecolor UA 004 (Interior Green) and this is the result, I am satisfied with it.

Then I went on to the cockpit elements:

EDUARD

Here I scratch built only the compass (just right of the ammo magazine) and the seat cushion (made with DAS and 5 tiny plasticard discs)

BLUE MAX

Here everything is built from scratch but the control stick (provided by the kit in white metal, not bad).
I also found the seat in my spare box and made the cushion using halves of plasticard round rods.

Thanks for watching dear friends, I hope next update will be in a shorter time!!!!

Nicely done interiors. The detail bits are looking great!

Looking really good. 1/48 seems so tiny after working in 1/32. Getting the small details in, as you are doing, is very impressive.

Cheers

Thank you Alistair.

According to you guys and girl, should I spray a satin varnish on the inside?

Hi And(t)onio!
Happy to find you here! I'm looking that you became better and better in building WWI kits. And you choose not two simple tasks!
So I'm seated looking at your work, beautiful.
In the attachments a suggestion for your D.IIIa, if you are scared by the black spiral typical of Jasta 4. (I NEVER try this kind of decoration on my kits!)
Cheers!
Ciao!

Hi Roberto,
thanks for your suggestion, very interesting indeed, but to be honest I am more scared by the lozenge on the wings than by the black spiral !!!!!
:-D

Thanks for your appreciation of my progresses, I just manage to steal a few minutes here and there to real life and don't bother too much about improvements, I think  to some extent they come as a natural evolution, but I keep doing the same errors and keep old (sometimes bad) habits... I am satisfied all in all, modeling helps emptying my head of many things and enjoy the time I succeed in dedicating to it...

Grazie

Antonio

Hi Andonio!
I think that you have expressed the real goal of modelling. I ever said that is my "happy island", a safe and quiet place only for myself.
I have other profiles if you want to change your subject (for example the red/white of Jasta 18) but only if you need.
I'm your follower!

Perfect!
So I keep myself seated and comfortably looking at your work!

P.S.:..some posts ago you asked for infos for interiors finishing....I remember a discussion in "The Aerodrome" about the fact that the famous "Silbergrau" gloss finishing typical on Pfalzes was used for interiors too...
