Hi
All finished. I'm not so flash at photography, particularly models, so have tried a few different lighting systems - artifical, natural and full sun. Just for fun that is...My tribute to Des perhaps should be in the "What the hell was he thinking painting it orange?" category. I think I'd be sure to win that one...

But seriously, this has been good to be involved in and so many of the built outcomes here are just incredible. I do not envy the judges!

And finally thanks Dave for thinking of this and making it happen as a tribute to the forums founder - Des. I'm sure he'd be very proud.

Cheers
Alistair

Outstanding work, Alistair! The orange is very convincing and looks great with the white outlines. I think Des would like this bird.

It shows all of its beauty in natural light, no orange peel on it!
:-)

Great work, I would not be either in the skin of the judges of this GB!!!

Simply outstanding work! I Love the color and enjoyed following your processes! Like others I think Des would have loved your build and the GB as a whole!

That's the bird your daughter just watched for 2 seconds? I can do that much longer, that is a very interesting paint scheme on a great build!

Alistair,
your DFW has been promising from the very beginning and looks great after finishing - in every respect.
And experimenting with colors or their own interpretation can give interesting results. I really like it.

I'm also glad that we were building our DFW models almost simultaneously, that was awesome.

Wow!! That hurts my eyes! What an original scheme - and an outstanding model too. Your photography is a great deal better than mine - I think that I will come to you for lessons!!

Thanks all, what a great group! I went out on a bit of a limb here...but I have a result that I enjoy looking at. I promise to stick to the recommended schemes in the future...or maybe I don't... 8)

Stephen - I hope your eye pain improves! My photography feels like a fail every time but you are welcome to visit us in Wellington, New Zealand.

And to all - this is has been a fantastic group build - a deadline is kind of useful. Missing it doesn't matter - other things always get in the way - but it gives you the impetus to push on. Please repeat next year Dave - a great and fitting tribute to Des.

Best,
Alistair

Another awesome DFW. That plane generally is so underrated, but you did that great kit really justice. The orange (which is the new black I heard) looks great.
