I managed a slight re-wire of the radio to make it a little more accurate. Why? Because you can't see it!  ::) But I can...More photos soon.

The interior is all done now. As usual photos show me some touch ups are needed. Next the engine.

Thanks Rick, Terri
Have had little time at this having just changed jobs. But back into it.

Fuselage half closed.

Engine done except for weathering. Dry fit into frame.

Started experiments with colour on a spare Sopwith Snipe wing - kind of crazy and could be weird but it will stand out! Burnt orange and I will add a little stipple but less than in the experiment. Opinions welcomed! ::)

Your engine looks great in place and will be exceptional once weathered! The stippling certainly adds a distressed look to the fabric. Looking forward to where you take this!

It does add a distress look to the fabric . Like Rick I'm waiting to see where this leads you . Very interesting indeed .

Thanks Rick and Terri
I'm not sure where this going myself! It could be a disaster...The orange colour is a challenge to my eye all by itself but I'll still pursue! 8)

I can only echoe all the positive comments above: really nice progress and I also love the orange.

Alistair, the interior of your DFW looks great, the engine also makes an impression even when it is not so dirty yet  ;)

Just one question about the engine’s housing-vent pipe:  you’ve use A16 as in the manual. Did you consider exchanging it into a pipe with common cap – as visible in the photo and side profile (deleted E12 in the manual)?

looking forward next updates

Hi Buzby
I see what you mean. A surprising mistake by WNW when I look at it. The vent is clearly capped in the photos. I may look at reverting to the correct cap or I may not. The one installed is very solid and worse outcomes could occur due to changing a minor detail - minor to my mind that is. But thanks for pointing out!

Cheers

The fuselage is closed. Engine weathered and dry fitted for the moment - it will be largely concealed by the cowls. The burnt orange colour scheme is applied. I should not be surprised that it looks a lot like wood! But I like it and when it is all done it will be, at least, distinctive... ??? There is a subtle variation in the colour - I have mixed and sprayed five different orange shades - which isn't very apparent in the photos.
