Glad to see this being built rather than languishing on the shelf. Looking good.

Cheers
FF

Thanks for dropping by! I am enjoying the build so far.

James,
Thanks for the Photos and comment. It is probably too late to make many changes to this one but with the imminent release of the Micro Mir version I will most likely do another and make the decking a bit more accurate.

The latest update. I have primed with Tamiya white and sprayed the metal areas with the last of My Polyscale French/Fokker Green. Next up is the black /white tail feather stripes.

That's really good progress, Rick! I have my eye on the MicroMir kit and this will be the reference build!

Thanks guys! Greatly appreciated. This will be the last update for a while on this one. I was just getting ready to go to the bench and re mask and touch up the tail feathers. Then I read Rowans post about the decals he is developing including a full line of Jasta 6 EVs with stripes and cowl Tulips! I know when to wait for better results  8)

Good progress Amigo and wise decision to wait for Rowan's decals.

Well guys, I decided there was no need to totally abandon this one. After all there were oil stains and Aviattic lozenge to apply! So here is the update. I have used oils to do the stains and have applied the Aviattic 4 color lower surface lozenge over the base and stains. Next up the fuselage top.

Looking very good Rick, I'm anxiously awaiting my Micro-Mir one which, hopefully, is in the mail system somewhere! (the tracking number provided is "dead"!)
Do you have a source or does anyone here have a link for some original or informed reference to the 4 colour wing scheme? I'm still a bit skeptical of that theory and like others, have real trouble seeing any colour differences in the common photos.
Cheers,
Lance

Missed out on this for a while - this is really uo to your usual standard Rick. The oil stains and lozenge finsh are wonderful - cannot wait to read more. (Just hope those transfers are not too long arriving….)

Lance, I found an (I fully believe to be) original, low-angle starboard rear quarter photo of D.VIII "Yellow 5" (actually, the "5" might be white) on the 'net that clearly shows light/dark camo pattern on the wing top. Lmk your email address & I'll send it to you.

In the mean time, you might wish to google "Fokker Team Schorndorf" and have a look at the interpretation of a small band of dedicated enthusiasts.

Hth, Rob
