Thanks Manni! Was it you that did the beautiful streaking with Prussian Blue and another color? If so I would love some more info on your technique!

Hello Rick, I think it wasn't me but  if I could help you, I certainly will do.

I am willing to take suggestions from anyone so if you have ideas on Fokker Streaking feel free to share  ;D

...I was a bit worried after those Macro photos  :-\
RAGIII

Yes, they do have a habit of setting you back on your chair once they come up on the screen  :o It's amazing what you don't see until that point but then it's probably not a bad thing as you can spot things before its too late  :D

Now have my Dr1 and a trip to Hannants procured the datafile  :)

Keep it coming Rick

Regards - Tug

Glad you got your DR1 Tug. I am sure when you build it a masterpiece will be the result!

Wow, I am offline for not even a week and you've almoust finished that Se5a, Rick, very well done! I love your work on all the three planes!
Borsos

Thanks Andreas! I had an 11 day vacation and spent a lot of time at the bench. Now I am working on getting the MvR DR1 to the same point as the SE5a. The F1 is a little behind as I ran out of strip plastic in the right size for the interior. I am still thinking about using the PE parts supplied by Encore/Eduard.

Very nice job, Rick, and very inspirative, I hope you do not mind I download the photos of your build and use them as reference and inspiration for the "little brother" I am building now.

Watching your progress with great interest!

Cheers

Ondra

Thank you for the very kind and generous remark Ondra! I admire greatly what you do in 1/144th scale and find your little brother equally inspiring! By the way it is your friend who built the DR1 using Prussian blue and umber oils posted in this thread:

Any info he would share as to his process would be appreciated.

Hi Rick,

correct, Sergey is my very good friend, you can contact him directly via Drooling Bulldog: [email protected]. I already talked to him and told him about your interest in his methods (very innovative, btw., as Sergey has artistic education and his approach on many modelling issues bears a stamp of an artist), so feel free to send any questions to him.

Or you can send me a PM here or via FB and I will make sure you will get the answer (to make it more comfortable for both sides as Sergey is struggling with english a bit).

Cheers

Ondra

You have been working wonders with both builds, Rick.  I'm sorry for not
being around much lately, but have been marveling at your progress in
the double build in a lurkingly sort of way.  Keep up the good work, my
old friend!

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Thanks for the comments Ernie! Just for the record this is now a Tri build, The SE5a, DR1, and an F1. ::)

Thanks! Although a Tri build I actually work on one to a point, then move on to the next. I have been on my work rotation the last few days so limited time for modeling. I have concentrated on the F1 interior of the fuselage.
RAGIII

PS: I also don't build anywhere near your level of detail which helps  ;D

I have finally made some progress on the Fokker F1. I have almost completed the interior. Some touch up and a seat cushion to add.  Now a couple of questions:
1. The seat was aluminum covered with fabric. I went with CDL. Does anyone have other info? Would it be doped green for instance.
2. We all have a thing for mking German seat belts an off white or CDL color. Looking at photos of crashed DR1s I noticed that the belts appear dark while the CDL interior does not. Any thoughts on belt color?

The bulkhead and seat are just resting in place.

Also need to add control wires to the rudder and stick !

Just catching up Rick. That Dr 1 is very impressive indeed - you are going to have a trio of winners when this project is complete.
