Looking great Bud, I am considering buying one, a WNW kit that is, just one of course to see what they are like.  But the only downside is I may buy one, start building it, then buy the second, third, fourth, fifth, divorce, six, seventh………………….. ;D

Thank you for all your kind comments and support, gents!
I'm pleased to see you have painted the WNW cabane strut brackets before further assembly - did you paint these before the cockpit was assembled too?  Did you shade to make those rudder ribs/frame stand out, or is that a natural effect we can see due to the profile of the surface?
Unfortunately, Ian, I did not have the foresight to paint the brackets before hand and, yes, it was challenging.  At least I had the presence of mind to paint them before closing up the fuselage.  That would've really been a pain.  I did preshade the rudder, but I also intend to postshade just to enhance it a bit.  A little weathering, as well.

Justin, just get SWMBO to buy them for you for Christmas, birthday, anniversary, Valentine's Day, etc., then it becomes her idea and all is well.  Trust me on this. ;)

I remember that build, Scott.  Truly outstanding stuff.  I got the idea of using 2 part epoxy from Brad and his SE5a.  1/48 scale is far too large to ignore those panels.
Finally got the WNW engine done.

Again, the comparison.

I was surprised to find that the engine did not fit inside the cowling.  Anyone else have this problem?  I really should have thinned the cowling anyway.  Still not too late.  Next step.

Cheers,
Bud

Terrific work on the engine, Bud.  The dirt and wear looks just right.

Cheers,
Ernie :)

Your engines look just right Bud, very nicely done.

I found the WNW cowling was a tight fit, but got the engine in without dislodging the push rods etc.  It won't turn though...

I agree with Ian, beautiful work on BOTH engines! I also got my engine in the WNW cowling without any damge. I usually end up gluing the engines in so not rotating isn't unusual for me  ::)

Beautiful work on your rotary engines Bud - they look real.

Interesting that the engines do not fit well - this is usually something you come to accept on a Roden kit, not WNW ...............

Very nice engines, indeed, Bud.
I remember that I tried the painted engine in the unpainted cowling and found out it was necessary to sand the cowling interior. It is worth to do it, the rotating prop with a rotary engine add to the model a lot, IMHO ;)
