So the time has come for me to start my Camel, the first one from two models planned. This actually is the kit from the WNW Duellists box. Still, I was not fully convinced with the colour schemes WNW offers in that boxing, lacking any photographic evidence. Incidentally, this kit is the Clerget version so I thought it would be nice to choose an option from the Clerget boxing. And here a great help from this forum member, Boggie, came - he generously sent me for free the ENTIRE Clerget decal sheet and made it possible to choose whichever option I might like. So to honour his Australian nationality and to be close to the original WNW choice for duellists, I decided to build another 4 Sqn AFC machine - the well known and documented Boomerang-W flown by HG Watson. Many thanks, again, Boggie, for making it possible!
Here is the first report, though, actually, I have been working on the interior for a couple of days now. Now, finally reaching the stage that the sub-assemblies are almost ready to get together, the first photos were taken.
I decided to include all the turnbuckles visible in the cockpit, both on the rigging and control lines. Beyond these, the rest is from the kit. Before assembling I plan to attach all the control lines, with rudder, skid and elevator lines running through their entire length inside the fuselage to the prepared openings in the rear segment, those for ailerons just to the fuselage sides. And when it all gets together but before encapsulating it inside the fuselage, I also plan to add a few missing fuel pipes, which are clearly visible in the photos, even in the very WNW instruction book.
