Thank you, Frank and Filip.

What metallic paint have you used here?

Vallejo metallic: aluminium, dark aluminium and a custom mix of them, as well as copper. And Vallejo Brass but that not from the metallic range.

Przemol,
Incredible work as always. The interior is perfect and those control wires.... I can't think of a superlative at just keeping them in line let alone running them to where they belong!

I completely agree with Rick: putting in and controlling all of those threads would have tested my patience! As always your standard of painting and construction is impeccably good.

another educational build. i'm taking copious notes for when i attempt Camels.

those turnbuckles look very scale. how'd you do 'em? Gaspatch or scratch or... ? if Gaspatch are they 1/48?

agree -absolutely incredible.  and to add to Jeff's questions - how are the turnbuckles anchored to the frame, and how are the wires attached to the turnbuckles.

thanks!!

Thank you, gentlemen.

Jeff and Dave:
The turnbuckles are 1/48 scale Gaspatch type C with loops at both ends. I attach them to the frames by twisting a copper wire eyelet (like the one from Bob's buckles) to one of the loops. Then the eyelet tail is trimmed to fit the depth of a drilled hole in the frame. The line is then tied to the other loop using a polyimide tube section. I showed it in my rigging presentation (page 30, 31) available here at this forum in the Rigging for Everyone section.

Just keeps getting better ...

ps: speaking of the "lines"  what exactly are the lines you are using?  The nylon panty thread glued per your tutorial or ....?

Ed, I use nylon thread for non structural rigging in 1/72 scale. For the structural rigging in 1/32 I use 0.12 mm black fishing line.

Thank you, Filip!

In the matter of fact I have been planning this build as a double one, with the Polish version with Bentley engine as one of the two. But I was stopped in this original idea by the fact, that the colours on the 7th Squadron badge decal were too British, especially the ultramarine blue and the shape of the details therein a little bit wrong. But now, when the replacement decals were prepared by my reliable friends from Melius Manu the situation changed. Thus, I decided to break the work on Watson's W and start and progress with the Polish Camel to reach the same stage and then to continue with both of them.
Hence, here is the current state of Watson's, ready for painting.

Also the wings, stabilizers, ailerons, rudder have the holes or the eyelets prepared.

And I have started working on the Polish Camel. Here I plan to use the replacement Vickers guns from Gaspatch which came to me as a gift from my friend, Łukasz - thank you!
