Hi all,
Thought I ought to get back to proper WW1 after the Vildebeest build..
Hopefully will end up as an article in ‘Scale Aviation Modeller’ - if I don’t make a pigs ear of it.
This build was mainly prompted by the subject matter - Lt. W.R. Oulton AFC of 143 Squadron, of whom I am lucky enough to have his medals:

He won the AFC for his actions in this aircraft against the Gothas & Zeppelins raiders on Southen England.
I have made a start but no pictures just yet. First impressions are an excellently detailed kit, very high part count in the cockpit for a 1/48 kit. My main concern is the rib stitch detail, which whilst excellently done, is nevertheless, overdone. So do I leave it be or try and sand it down a notch and risk spoiling the surfaces? Hmmm.
There are lots of Brassin extras for this kit. However, I’m struggling to see the differences from the kit parts? I’m holding off from those for the time being. I am tempted, however, by the HGW fabric seatbelts set, as I think the kit belts (lovely as they are) depict a later aircraft with shoulder harnesses. The HGW set also have those lovely separate buckles.

My other question is colour. The specially developed night colour - NIVO (Night Invisible Varnish Orfordness) - how did it differ from PC10?
Thanks for looking in,
Guy
