Hi Danny,
the way you dealt with that paper thing makes it look as beautiful and realistic as a good plastic kit!
You are a wizard my friend!

Thanks a lot, fellows!   ;) ;)  Antonio...just wait until I get the Italian one completed!!

I got the tail skid on (upside down I think...the plates for shock absorbing should be such that the longest one is outside...d'oh!), the cabanes and aileron connections as well as the main landing gear completed.  It all looks pretty coolio.

I'll be rigging soon.  This one has some interesting double rigging that I think were covered with leather?  Or maybe is was streamlined metal.  I'll figure this out before I start.

Thanks again for looking....Dan

Thanks Rick and Nigel...here is a bit more!

I noticed that there are some prominent brackets for the doubled flying and landing wires so I made a bunch out of folded paper and attached them to their correct sites.

Next, I made the wire stream-liners out of thin plastic sheet and carefully shaped them to an approximate airfoil followed by little segments of EZ-Line to represent the ends of the wires.

These were then painted silver based on some shots I've seen and carefully attached at each end to the brackets with thick CA and accelerator.

A good nights work and a good facsimile of the original.  Landing wires will require an even more cunning plan tomorrow.  Wish me luck!  :o ;D

Cheers,
Dan

All...

I have worked on the landing wires for the Polish version and it's working...but I did need a break.  SO!

I started the fuselage on the Italian version. I am taking it slow and trying to get a nicer finish including carefully sanding parts and separating the paper pieces instead of adding them as one.  Seems to go a bit better and safer for me.  I also like my own paper for my download which is a bit thicker (compared to the WAK kit) so I see fewer scallops in between the formers.  I like it a lot better thus far!

Onward and upward!  More soon...Dan

I have to say Dan, your "paper skills" are improving with every session you post! This pair is your best work to date, keep at it and most of all enjoy!

Thank you so much, Gentlemen.  Man...it would be really nice to meet you all in person.  Of course, then you'd see these paper models "live" and then some issues may rear their ugly collective heads!  ::)

Much appreciated.

Here are just a few shots of the main fuselage and the tails connected.  The skins went on with quite a bit of fiddling but I do think they look better than the Polish example so I'm pleased (even if they aren't perfect)!

The tails sure make this one colorful...

Cheers,
Dan
