It's taken all day...

and finally three separate applications of CA to get all of the tiny divots filled...  but here it is:

Now I just have to remind myself to make a mold of it before I attach it to the model for good.

Gaz,
That spinner is some pretty clever work on your part. On the one hand you could just buy one from Shapeways as Borsos mentions, on the other you could exercise some good old fashioned modelling talent as you have and produce a perfect substitute! Nicely done!
Cheers,
Lance

Perfect!  Money spent vs. time spent?  Take your pick.  I think you chose wisely.

Just for the record Bos' spinner would not have worked with the prop used as it is designed for the Axial prop.

Guys,
Thank you for the support!  I really appreciate it.

Does anyone have a period photo of the Alby with an Axial prop?  I don't know that I've ever seen one.

Thanks!

The answer is yes, there are period photos. I am attaching a link to the WNW Albatros DV. There is at least one perhaps more. On the plus side I remember reading that props were changed quite often. So an aircraft photographed one day with an Axial could have a Wolf at some other point  ::) That's my story anyway  :o

Thanks for that!  Bo's Axial prop spinner looks a lot better than the spinner WnW made.  But I still prefer the larger, more blunt spinner.

Today's work...  in amongst stuff done at hiome that didn't involve models:

I've never done large fuselage decals before.  Usually the national markings are the biggest I have done.  But I was pleased with the way the decals laid down.  I had to use my daughter's blow dryer as well as Mr. Mark softer, but eventually they laid down snugly around all of the fuselage details.

It has seemed like there was a million small things to take care of before the decals went on.  Anyway I'm glad to make visible progress.

Thanks for looking,

Gaz

Great work on everything, machine guns, the spinner, painting and decalling. All making a superb Albatros. Very well done.

WOW! You have done a spectacular job on the fuselage decals. All looks fantastic. You are in about the same place on your build as me. I hope to mount the upper wing today

Thank you fellas!  It's only going to get more colorful as I add more national decals as well as his personal Wappen.

Hi Everyone,
More decals:

And something I hadn't realized:

The port side Wappen is held by a heraldic rampant lion while the port side Wappen is paired with a a heraldic tyger...
...yes, I actually looked them up...

Thanks for looking!
