Many thanks to all of you for your kind and generous comments!

I have been using the quaranteen time to move on with the build, the fuselage has now all details, one more coat of primer and I can move on to painting.

Cheers

I am still struggling to get my head around how small that is. That is a simply wonderful piece of modelling.

Many thanks for your generous comments, Rick, Stephen, Terri and Richie, they are greatly appreciated.

The fuselage somehow disappeared from my workbench unfortunately, but after 14 days of searching I finally found it so I can move on.

I masked the pulley inspection windows, so the parts are now ready for painting.

Masking those 13 stripes on the fuselage was an exceptional experience I do not want to repeat in the near future.

Last but not least I assembled the undercarriage, fortunately all angles seem correct so far.

Cheers

Hi Ondra!
Good to see you back and working on this Camel!
I'm looking forward to seeing this little guy in the color dress.
Regarding the stripes on fuselage: you will remove every second one for painting?

Cheers,
Frank

Oh wow, that is incredible! Masking those fuselage stripes must have taken massive patience and determination. Of the kind that enables you to spend 2 weeks searching for fuselage! :)

Seriously though, this is absolutely brilliant!

That, as everything else on this build, is amazing, ( I await the red devil in 1/144 with baited breath).
I doubt it would be easier or less fiddly, but wouldn't it be less error prone to cut thin decal strips? The masked stripes are no doubt to scale, but any leaks under the masking will be in 1:1 scale.

Well, I thought I had posted a comment Hours ago. So making up for My Mistake Now. Your work in this scale is as I always say, remarkable! I can't even imagine doing the masking for those stripes in 1/144th scale! You Rock Ondra!!

Many thanks to all of you for your generous comments!

@Frank: yes, that is the idea. The fuselage got a coat of white, so afterwards I will remove the masks covering the black stripes and put a layer of black paint.

@sp: the idea with decal strips is plan B, should this method not work out. As I will be using airbrush and Drooling Bulldog paints (only very light coat covers perfectly), I hope for a good result, but at the end of the day I might be wrong. The trouble with decal strips is keeping constant spacing between the stripes, therefore I decided to use it as plan B.

Good to see that you are continuing with this Ondra: and really pleased that you found the fuselage - if you had lost it permanently I cannot image how you might have felt. Painting stripes on the fuselage in any scale would drive me to desperation, but in that scale....

Stephen.
