What?!  What are you talking about, Ondra?!  I think they look spectacular.
Cheers,
Bud

Agree with Bud, do not be so harsh on yourself.  This build is awesome.

Your scratchbuilding still outpasses every 1:144 scale kit available on the market. Great wings in my opinion.
Best regards

Wings and ribs LOOK  ok but is the problem in the depth or height of the ribs?
A few coats of paint in 1/144 may help...

I agree 100% with Bud but in the end you are the only one to make the decision!

Many thanks to all of you for your kind and encouraging words!

After a rather long break from the workbench (I got a new job which had a major influence on the amount of my workbench time as well as modelling mojo) I decided to get back to the Camel.

To make a calm start, I began to work on the engine. As next to nothing will be visible eventually, I decided to omit the ribs on the cylinders this time (to be very honest, they are heavily out of scale on the Eindecker, I rather added them for the feeling).

As usually I used a paper template to glue the cylinders in place.

Each cylinder will get two push rods, which I want to represent by means of elastic monofilament. I hope this photo give a rough idea what I am up to.

I decided to quit using flickr and currently I am looking for a replacement to upload my photos to (after the photobucket experience and now flickr changing user terms I do not want to go through the same story for the third time), so for now I am forced to upload the photos directly to the forum. Should anyone have a good replacement for flicker, all hints are welcome.

Cheers

Ondra

I was wondering what had happened to the 'minute master modeler' - good to see you're back onto it,

Ondra,
I am very happy to see you back and posting your excellent work! I have actually been thinking about you a lot in the last couple of days and was going to post asking if anyone knew what was going on. Your engine cylinders look awesome!

Hooray the Micro-modeller is back inspiring us all. That engine looks very good, especially the push rods.

Ondra,
"I decided to quit using flickr and currently I am looking for a replacement to upload my photos to (after the photobucket experience and now flickr changing user terms I do not want to go through the same story for the third time)"

I highly recommend IMGUR. It's pretty simple, free, and has been around for quite a while. Google has a lot of "How to" info.
Cheers,
Lance

Many thanks to all of you for your kind words! I am very glad to be back in this nice company.

And many thanks to Lance for the tip to use Imgur - great help, Lance!

Here a few photos of how I created the engine:

And here the result:

After the scary experience with Eindecker's engine I made a fit test with the cowling straight away - thanks God with a positive result. :)

Cheers

Ondra
