I love the clear sprue idea, I will note it on my pad.
It's difficult I think, to find clear plastic that thin, also the sprue is normally much thicker.

Ryan, I used streched clear sprue. It is typically stronger, not so easy to stretch, but it depends really on brands. I made a good experience with the newer kits by Eduard. I built a 1/4 scale instrument panel from a Eduard kit, and due to a lot of clear parts the sprue was bigger then usual.
Another solution is also possible: I put a piece of sprue into my lathe an turned it to a smaller diameter, but you will need very sharp cutting chisel for that.

Conjecture on my part, but could be instructions to pilot (turn left, dive or turn right).  That way the gunner could have a better field of fire/evade attacker?  Just a guess on my part.  Love what you are doing by the way.

Thanks Frank (and Ryan as well)... I did not imagine transparent sprue would keep its "transparency" once heated and stretched. Will make a try.
What was the use of that weird tool with the icons you are asking about those left side fields?

Thank you Juan! You have not seen the model together, but this is not possible, because only the pilot can reach the board on the upper wing. The gunner is to much aft.

Andonio, the left side are symbols for own aircrafts (cockade), a unknown aircraft ("?") and germans (with the cross). So the pilot can tip to the cross and then the direction to tell the gunner: "See, there is a german"

A friend come up with the idea, that the colors are related to arming (red to cock the guns for example or white to secure) or may be related to bomb release.
